Global VolunTourism
Global VolunTourism combines vacation travel with volunteer service at the visited destination. It is an exciting way for world travelers to experience an international destination while sharing their knowledge and volunteering their time for projects that directly benefit the local community and its people.
Global VolunTourism is growing in popularity. A February 2008 Conde Nast Traveler & MSNBC.com survey poll of 1,600 travelers found that 20 percent had taken a global voluntourism vacation. More than six in 10 (63 percent) of travelers who hadn’t participated in global voluntourism before said they’d be very likely or somewhat likely to do it in the future. Of the 20 percent who had done it before, 95 percent said they would be somewhat or very likely to do it again.
The unique partnership between Global Community Service Foundation and its travel partner, Global Spectrum, provides opportunities for individuals, families, small groups or large organizations to experience Global VolunTourism in places such Viet Nam, Burma and other destinations throughout Southeast Asia.
